Reserving a gift
Claim a gift on someone's list so nobody else buys the same thing.
What does reserving do?
Reserving a gift tells everyone else with access to the list that it's taken, so two people don't buy the same thing. The person the list belongs to isn't shown which gifts are reserved.
How do I reserve a gift?
- Open a list that's been shared with you and select Reserve on a gift.
- If more than one is available, choose how many under Quantity to reserve.
- Leave Keep this a surprise — hide it from the list owner ticked, unless you're happy for the owner to know.
- Optionally add a Private message about this gift. It's shown with the gift on your shopping list and on the gift's page.
- Select Reserve. The button shows how many you're reserving, for example Reserve 1.
You're taken back to the list, where the gift now appears under Your reservations. It's also on your shopping list.
Gifts with a quantity
- Some gifts can be reserved by several people. The list shows how many are left, for example "2 of 3 left".
- Unlimited gifts can be reserved by any number of people.
- When none are left, the gift moves under Show Reserved Items and shows Reserved.
Changing your mind
Open the gift and select Change your reservation. From there you can select Gift purchased once you've bought it, or Release this gift to give it back so someone else can reserve it.
Note: To change how many you've reserved, release the gift and reserve it again with the new quantity.
Common questions
- Someone reserved it at the same time as me — what happens?
- Weeesh stops two people taking more than is available. If someone gets there first, you'll see how many are left now and can try again.
- Can I reserve a gift on my own list?
- No. You can reserve gifts you added to someone else's list, though.
- Can I reserve without an account?
- No. You need to sign in with Google or Apple to reserve a gift.
