Getting started
Go from signing in to sharing your first list and reserving gifts for others, one step at a time.
Step 1. Sign in
Weeesh uses your Google or Apple account, so there's no new password to create.
- Go to the sign-in page.
- Select Continue with Google or Continue with Apple, and confirm it's you.
What you'll see: Your Home screen, with a welcome message. Your account was created automatically.
Step 2. Find your way around
Everything in Weeesh is one or two taps from the main menu.
- Look at the main menu: Home, Lists, Groups and Shopping. It's at the top on a computer and along the bottom on a phone.
- Open the profile menu — your picture in the top-right corner, or Profile on a phone — to find Account, Settings, Gift Preferences and Help.
What you'll see: You know where your lists, groups, shopping and account settings live.
Step 3. Set up your profile
Your name and nickname are how other people recognise you in groups and shared lists.
- Open the profile menu and select Account, then Edit Account.
- Check your Display name. To add a picture, paste an image's web address into Photo URL.
- Optionally choose a Nickname, and decide your Profile visibility: Private shows your nickname to other group members, Public shows your real name.
- Select Save Changes.
What you'll see: Your Account page shows your updated details.
Step 4. Add your gift preferences
Sizes, favourite colours and allergies help people pick gifts that fit and that you'll actually like.
- Open the profile menu and select Gift Preferences.
- Fill in whatever is useful — every field is optional. Separate several answers with commas.
- Select Save Changes.
What you'll see: A "Saved." message. Anyone viewing one of your lists can now see these details.
Step 5. Create your first list
A list holds the gifts you'd like for one occasion.
- Select Lists in the main menu, then New List.
- Enter a Title and choose the Occasion. Add a Date so people get a reminder as it gets close.
- Leave Visibility as Private so only people you share with can see it.
- Select Create List.
What you'll see: Your new, empty list, ready for gifts.
Step 6. Add your first gifts
The more detail you give, the easier it is for people to get it right.
- On your list, select Add Gift.
- Paste a product link and select Fetch details — or choose Enter manually.
- Check the title, price and picture. Set a Priority, and a Quantity if you'd like more than one.
- Select Add Gift. Repeat for each gift.
What you'll see: Your gifts listed on your list, highest priority first.
Step 7. Share your list
Nobody else can see your list until you share it.
- On your list, select Share.
- Open Share this list to share with a person (by their Weeesh email) or a group — or open Private link and select Create Link.
- Choose View (can browse and reserve) or Edit (can also add gifts).
- Send the link with Share via, or let people know you've shared it.
What you'll see: The people you shared with appear under Shared with, and the list appears on their Shared with me tab.
Step 8. Reserve a gift for someone else
Reserving stops two people buying the same gift, without spoiling the surprise.
- Select Lists, then Shared with me, and open a list.
- Select Reserve on a gift.
- Choose a quantity if there's more than one, and leave Keep this a surprise ticked.
- Select Reserve.
What you'll see: The gift appears under Your reservations at the top of the list, and on your shopping list.
Step 9. Use your shopping list
It keeps track of everything you've promised to buy.
- Select Shopping in the main menu.
- Once you've bought a gift, select Mark as Purchased.
- On the Purchased tab, add a tracking number if you like.
What you'll see: Bought gifts move to the Purchased tab.
Step 10. Create a group (optional)
With a family group you can share a list with everyone at once.
- Select Groups, then New Group. Enter a Name and select Create Group.
- On the Members tab, add people by the email address they use for Weeesh.
- Then share a list with the group from that list's Share page.
What you'll see: Everyone in the group can open lists shared with it.
Step 11. Keep your lists tidy
Update lists as plans change, and put them away when the occasion has passed.
- Edit a list with the pencil button at the top of the list.
- Select a gift on your list to change or remove it.
- Manage who has access from the list's Share page.
- When the occasion is over, use the … menu on the list's card in My Lists and select Archive.
What you'll see: Archived lists move to the Archived tab, where you can reactivate them for next time.
