Adding a surprise gift to someone else's list

When a list is shared with you at Edit access, you can add gift ideas to it — and choose to hide them from the person the list belongs to. It's a way for family and friends to coordinate a surprise right on the list.

1. Open the list and select Add Gift.
2. Fill in the gift as usual.
3. Under Gift visibility, choose Hidden from the list owner.
4. Select Add Gift.

The gift shows a Hidden from list owner badge for everyone who can see it.

• The owner doesn't see the gift anywhere: not on the list, not in its count or budget, and not in the Activity tab.
• Everyone else with access to the list can see and reserve it, including you.
• You can change the visibility later by editing the gift.
